General information
Composition
Defoamer CDM 798 is a silicon-free broad-spectrum defoamer and can be used in both fresh and salt water based drilling fluids.
Product description
Surface active agents in a mineral oil.
Physical properties

- Melting point: < -10°C
- Density (20°C): approx. 895 kg/m3
- Viscosity (25°C): 70-300 mPa. s
- Flash point: > 200 °C
- pH: 6 - 8
- Solubility: water dispersible
Soluble in many organic solvents
Application
Defoamer CDM 798 should be applied neat and can be added directaly to the mud system
Defoamer CDM 798 is effective over extended periods of time.
Recommened dosage: In general 0.8 – 24 US gallon/100 bbl (0.2 – 6 ltr/m³) but the exact dosage can only be estimated in practise.
Note: For foam drilling, Defoamer CDM 798 can be sprayed directly on the discharge.
Packaging
Defoamer CDM 798 is packed in 60 liter drums with a net weight of 45 kilos.
